Restaurant Review: Lemonade

I am always on the hunt for a great new lunch spot that has really delicious fresh food that you can get fast when you're in a hurry, but it's still healthy.  This is why Lemonade is one of my favorite spots in LA and I'm so happy to share it with you today.  Luckily everywhere we have lived around LA has had a Lemonade close by so I can get my fix of delicious southern california comfort food that is always made with the freshest fruits and veggies of the season.  I love the motto of Lemonade to capture the LA spirit of adventure about food with an appreciation of the freshest seasonal ingredients and a desire to reinterpret familiar dishes with unexpected twists.  It's definitely a spot I take friends and family when they are in town because I know they will love it.  The set up is a little different than other restaurants and this is how it works:  when guests arrive they grab a tray and choose from a buffet of prepared hot and cold dishes displayed behind the counter.  They select a portion size of 1, 2, or 3 and choose the dishes they want to eat.  The marketplace dishes are my favorite to get, with selections like pineapple chicken salad, shaved brussel sprouts, and red quinoa you can't go wrong with any of the choices.  The dishes are all so good because they taste like your favorite traditional dishes you've had before, but they have the most unique twist and new flavors that you would have never thought to put together but they work so well and you wonder how they made it.  You can also add on a soup or sandwich or another delicious side like their truffle mac n' cheese that is amazing.  But don't forget to save room for dessert because the selection of cupcakes, macarons, and cookies is so tempting!  And of course you can't go to Lemonade without trying one of the unique freshly squeezed flavors they have like blood orange, watermelon, and cucumber melon [just to name a few of my favorites].  So if you haven't already tried Lemonade, I would highly recommend it because it is an LA favorite of mine for sure.  They even have one at LAX now so you can grab some fresh and healthy food before your next flight.
