Restaurant Review: Public School

A couple weeks ago we celebrated our friends birthday with a date night out to a hip new restaurant in downtown Culver City called Public School.  I thought it was so good and I loved the whole design that fit the theme, that we had to go back so I could share it with you.  I will admit that I judge restaurants a lot on the interior design of them, I guess it's just the designer in me but I think it makes a big difference to the ambiance.  I love how they carried the design through every detail from the chalkboard alphabet on the wall to the clipboards and school notebook menus.  My husband has been here with a work group before and loved the lunch so it was great to come for dinner as well.  Everything on the menu has a really unique twist to a common dish and some of our favorites are the Crispy Ahi Tuna Tacos and Moroccan Chicken Lettuce Cups for starters then for the main course we loved the Pan Seared Salmon and the Huntsman burger with delicious brown bag fries.  Plus they have their own ketchup with an extra kick to it and it's so good.  For dessert, we loved the Lemon Meringue.  I would definitely go back to this place because even after waiting for 35 minutes to get a table, it was worth it.
