Salt Lake City Tour Guide

Salt Lake City Tour Guide

We just got back from a trip to our beautiful hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah.  And even though Adam and I grew up about 15 minutes from each other, we never met until our first blind date.  It's always so fun to go back to Utah and see both of our families and all of our nieces, nephews, and friends that live there. It's hard to put a short list together of all of our favorites because there is so much new stuff happening in Salt Lake all the time, but here is a little travel guide of our favorite places to eat and things to do.  And if you are looking for a place to stay here, I would definitely recommend The Grand America Hotel.  We stayed here our wedding night and it's so beautiful with an amazing buffet, french bakery, and cutest toy shop around.  Leave a comment below if you have some favorites to add to the list.  Thanks so much for reading!

SLC

| GOOD EATS |

Ruth's Diner [we love riding our bikes up immigration canyon for breakfast here.  The salmon eggs benedict is my favorite and the biscuits are huge and delicious.]

Bruges Waffles & Frites [most amazing liege belgium waffles with the works on top]

Hires Big H [classic diner with car-hop outside and the best burger, fries, onion rings, and root beer freeze with my favorite fry sauce]

Flat Bread Neopolitan Pizzeria [I love everything here, especially the pizza and salad combo but you have to get the butterscotch pudding for dessert.  It's unreal]

Alamexo [really good mexican food with the best fresh guacamole to start, it's better than any i've ever had.]

Pizzeria Limone [a fun lunch spot with tasty flatbreads, salads, and a unique spin on pizzas.  Their pizza crust is one of my favorites.]

The Dodo [you have to get the famous turkey sandwich with swiss cheese and avocado that you dip in their signature barbecue sauce, it's amazing.  and save room for dessert because the toll house pie and coffee cake are to die for.]

Copper Onion [they are pretty famous for their copper onion burger and meatloaf, but everything on the menu has a real unique spin from traditional dishes that are packed with flavor.]

Red Iguana [authentic mexican food that is worth the wait, every single thing on the menu is so good.]

Cafe Trio [this is a perfect dinner spot with great flatbreads, my favorite tomato soup, salads, and pasta that I love]

Naked Fish [one of our favorite spots for sushi]

Sea Salt [I love the fresh white design of this place with a beautiful outdoor patio and that they use seasonal produce.]

Market Street Grill [this is a great dinner spot for any occasion and the seafood is the best.  But I also love just coming for lunch to get some clam chowder with their fresh sour dough bread and they have my favorite cake - raspberry almond torte.]

Mandarin [we love going here for dinner or getting takeout for the best chinese food you can find]

Valter's Osteria [this is the new restaurant that the famous chef from Cucina Toscana started and it's even better.  this is a fancy night out, but it's the best italian you'll ever have and you need to go hungry to try all courses.]

Nielsen's Frozen Custard [this is a Utah original with signature thick shakes and concretes that are so big and rich you'll want to share.]

Hatch Family Chocolates [we love coming up here in the winter to get one of their rich hot chocolates, but they also have good chocolates and ice cream treats for the summer]

Ruby Snap Cookies [the most delicious fresh baked cookies with new flavors being featured each month.  And I love how they are all named after girls]

[we also love going to get a shaved ice in the summertime at the many stands around town.  One of our favorites is Island Flavor in Holladay.  We also love the fish tacos at Lonestar, pizza at Vinto, tasty lunch at Blue Lemon, and fresh baked goods at Eva's Bakery.]
