I have spent the past weekend thinking about my most cherished roll of being a mama to these two darlings as we celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday and I can't help but feel overwhelmingly grateful for them. I was able to spend the last week with my own mother and my appreciation for her just keeps on growing as I see her now taking care of my own kids. Being a mom means that you forever will have your heart walking around outside of you because these little people that you sacrifice your entire self physically and emotionally for have the greatest love you'll ever know. They are part of you. You'll never stop worrying if they are healthy, safe, learning, growing, and thriving or feeling proud of every little accomplishment along the way. And the incredible thing is that every single child is so uniquely different just like every pregnancy is different and every mother has a different way of being the best mom she knows how. When you become a mother whether its through biological pregnancy, or infertilisation treatment, or serragocy, or adoption, or foster care - you take on the hardest and most rewarding job to love someone so fiercely and put their well-being high above your own. It is an incredible calling to be a mother and such an incredible blessing. I am in awe of these two every day by the little things they are discovering and learning and just how quickly they are growing with personalities all of their own. And even though I am exhausted many days and feel like I have my hands full most of the time, having them in my arms is exactly where I want to be. So to all you mothers out there and soon-to-be mothers, I hope you had a fabulous Mothers Day being celebrated for the truly amazing woman that you are - and know that you are doing incredible things and You Are Enough.
