Proposal Anniversary

Three years ago today I made the easiest decision of my life and said yes to spending the rest of forever with this handsome guy next to me.  He surprised me on December 1st, 2010 with a package delivered on my front porch of the start of the twelve days of Christmas.  I had never had anyone do the twelve days of Christmas for me so I was really excited and he took the time to design these amazing cards for each day.  I really pay attention to details so I think it's the little thoughts that count.  On the eleventh day it was a Saturday and he had this whole day planned out for us and I was just excited that we got to spend some time together since we had been so busy lately.  We spent the day skiing up at Deer Valley and ate lunch at Silver Lake Lodge, then stopped at the Park City outlets on our way home to do some shopping and I remember telling him that this had been the most perfect day and there was only one more thing that could make it even better and that was if we got engaged - which I knew was never going to happen because even though we had a wedding date, we hadn't picked out my ring yet so I knew he didn't have it.  After we got home, we got all dolled up for the night and went to dinner at Cucina Toscana which is the most amazing italian restaurant in Salt Lake City.  Following dinner we were headed to the ice skating rink when his grandma called to say she flew into town last minute and needed us to pick her up at the airport, so we changed directions and went to get her.  Before I knew it, we were going to a private hanger at the airport where a helicopter was waiting for us.  I couldn't believe what was happening.  It was like our own private bachelor episode, we flew all over the city until Adam pulled out a card for the eleventh day of Christmas that said a golden ring.  He then pulled out a little box and asked me to marry him.  I didn't even have to think about it.  I was floating on cloud nine and couldn't even believe the surprise Adam pulled off.  He went and designed my ring all by himself without me even having a clue.  When we landed from our fairytale helicopter ride I just wanted to go out and tell everyone the news.  We made a stop at his parents house to see his mom who was the only one home, but of course there was more surprise waiting for me.  We walked into a dark house with Michael Buble on and candles lit, but as soon as Adam flicked on the lights - both of our families jumped out of the room screaming with excitement.  We drank bubbly and ate my favorite Market Street Grill cake while we retold our great proposal story.  I just couldn't stop staring at my hand.  I have always loved Christmas more than any other holiday and now this time of year has even more meaning to me since it was when we got engaged.  It's just the perfect recipe for romance with everything lit up at night, music everywhere, snow falling, and cuddling up by the fire.  Ya I know, I'm a hopeless romantic;)
