Sunshine Baby Shower
Last month, at the beginning of September I threw a baby shower for one of my dear friends and her baby girl on the way. You know how I love getting to throw parties and have people over so I was excited to plan this and create a special day that’s all about her. I wanted to pick a theme for the shower that would work for an outdoor garden brunch and that wasn’t too girly because that didn’t fit my friend. I chose a lemon/citrus theme to work with one of my favorite children’s songs “You Are My Sunshine”. I thought this was perfect since we were serving brunch and I based the colors and decor all around the invitations and sign I designed. There was a juice bar with orange juice and a grapefruit juice mixed with cranberry, 7up and fresh lime with lemon waters on the tables. The buffet was a Belgium waffle bar with fresh whipped cream, homemade buttermilk syrup, nutella, cookie butter, lemon curd, coconut, and all the berries. You can find the recipe here for our favorite waffles if you’re interested in making them. There was also a couple of different breakfast egg casseroles and muffins for people to choose from. Luckily, it all turned out great and I loved getting to decorate all of the flower arrangements with fresh citrus mixed in. And it was my first attempt at making a balloon garland so I’m glad it held together for the party. I would say that if you want to make one then purchase these items because they made all the difference. I also had so many requests for this printable I designed so I have it linked below for you to easily download then print at whatever size you want. It looks so good blown up big hanging on the wall or you could do it smaller framed and use it in the nursery after.
