How to Get Out of Your Comfort Zone
“A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.”
I’ve been thinking about this a lot this week after church this past Sunday where we had a great lesson taught by one of my favorite people. She spoke to a room of women who were all there to be uplifted, inspired, and taught. I am really grateful that I was there because I feel like it was something that I needed to hear. She said that if we aren’t on an uncomfortable path in our life then we aren’t growing. God has sent us here on earth to learn and grow and right when we are in those tough spots that push us out of what feels easy or uncomfortable is when we grow the most. There are amazing things waiting for us right on the other side of hard moments, if we can just endure them. I know how hard it is to be in a phase of life where things out of your control seem so difficult, but you CAN do hard things. This I know for sure.
It’s hard to push yourself out of your little bubble and what feels comfortable but I know that the times I have pushed myself to be brave are when you can see the potential of what is to come. Whether it’s going after that big job you want, or starting your own business, or reaching out to make new friends, or going out to learn a new skill then you need to have confidence in yourself that you can do it and not be afraid to try. Here are a few things that I think of to help me push myself out of my bubble. And living in a new state while moving around a few different times to new cities has definitely taught me to do just that.
